Castlecool announced as a Deloitte Best Managed Company for a fifth year in a row!

 By Andrew Shortt

Castlecool has requalified as one of Ireland’s ‘Best Managed’ companies in the Deloitte Best Managed Companies Awards Programme. Castlecool was first recognised as a Best Managed Company in 2009. The company, which demonstrated superior business performance for a fifth year running, was recognised at an awards gala dinner in Dublin on 7 March 2014. This is Castlecool’s second year as a Deloitte Gold Standard company, a first in the industry.

An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, TD, congratulated the award winners in a keynote speech at the event. The Deloitte Best Managed Companies Awards Programme, in association with Barclays Bank Ireland, recognises indigenous Irish companies across the island of Ireland which are operating at the highest levels of business performance.

Commenting on the award, Paul Shortt, MD of Castlecool said: “I would like to express my gratitude to the hard work and dedication of the entire team here in Castlecool, without which this award would not have been possible. Being recognised by Deloitte as a Best Managed Company for a fifth year in a row is a fantastic achievement, which we are all very proud of.

Winners of the awards can apply to requalify as a Deloitte Best Managed Company for the next two years, following receipt of the award for the first and fourth time. Companies applying for requalification must satisfy the programme eligibility criteria and go through a requalification review process in order to ensure that the companies continue to uphold the standard of a Deloitte Best Managed Company. This year 64 companies, which have previously won the award, requalified.

Commenting, An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, TD, said:

"It is great to see so many indigenous Irish companies achieving this best in class standard and a good sign we can achieve the aim of becoming the best small country in the world for business. Companies like the award-winners are the job creators who are crucial to our economic recovery. The Government wants to build on the 61,000 new jobs created last year and, through the Action Plan for Jobs, will continue a relentless focus on creating jobs in the domestic economy."
